Convert a glass's solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC) to its shading coefficient (SC) and back. The shading coefficient compares a glazing's solar heat gain with 3 mm clear glass, whose SHGC is 0.87, so SC = SHGC ÷ 0.87 and SHGC = 0.87 × SC. Solar factor and g-value are the same quantity as SHGC, often given as a percentage.
